I enjoyed this book very much. I've collected a lot of Amanda Ashley books and the plot of this one felt very different from her others. I liked the nod to Phantom of the Opera (she has this in many of her books). The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of five is there wasn't a clear reason why they fell for each other, it just appeared to happen out of no where. Also, she skips over a week of their relationship right at the beginning and that felt lazy to me. But if I ignore that, it was an engaging story. I kept wondering how it would be resolved. Would definitely recommend if you like period romance. The language is a bit antiquated because of the era it's set in, so do bear that in mind.

Even though this book had some reviews that should have prevented me from wanting to read it, I'm glad I did. This was a good book and it taught me a lesson in going with your gut instinct.
Amanda Ashley is one of my favorite all time authors. A real page turner to be certain, building into a terrific plot, growing suspence, and finally a fantastic ending!!! She has written yet another beautiful journey, and we need more goodness to read from in our world today. Thank you, Susan
I loved this book. I was expecting a cheesy romance, yet the storyline was beautifully constructed and inspired real moments of feeling. I wanted to cry at Erick's internal struggle and refusal to accept the transformation that threatened his chance as happiness, as well as his lady's unswerving devotion. Would definitely recommend this read.
I loved this story. The premise. The character arcs. It was definitely a fresh take on Beauty & the Beast
I thought that this story was intriguing. Love really does conquor all & Light really does trump Darkness. Although it took a bit for the storyline to get really going, nevertheless, I thought that it was well written, couldn't put it down once I really got into it. There were some tears shed when I realized what was going to happen but then again, Love triumphed and all was right with the world! Loved it.
This book was very good. I am a huge fan of Amanda Ashley's and this book delivered like all her other ones. For this not being one of her Vampire books I thought it was good. This book just goes to show that beauty is not measured by looks and that love can concur all and overcome all things that thrown if front of you and test your love. I did like the twist on this from the classic story of Beauty and the Beast. On a readers note I try not to leave "spoiler" reviews but enough to let someone know it is a good book.
He was a jerk through most of the book, only thinking of himself and what he wanted. I felt sorry for his first wife, he could have at least held her hand when she was trying to give birth to his child! Erik was a crappy lover, wham-bam, but no thank-you ma'am. I wish the writter would have done something for the werewolf woman. I liked the romance for the wizard. I also thought the writer rushed the ending, and don't believe the witch with all the hatred in her heart like she did, would have reacted that way in the end.
